Rantings of an aspiring game artist

A year ago I had never touched a pencil, never really drawn anything. but in games I used to walk around, looking at the environments, wondering how the hell people could make things like that.
art started to interest me more and more, and eventually I started drawing, and attempts to learn 3Ds max. it didn't take of. A few weeks later for school we had to do a short intern for a week.
I know a guy who works for a game studio, and asked if I could go there. They approved and they helped me a lot. They learned me the basics of 3D and texturing. Again for a year I couldn't really work at my skills because of my final's coming up.
